  • Georgetown Day is on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, noon to 5:30 p.m., on Main Street, Georgetown (Redding), Connecticut. It’s a rain-or-shine event. The cook-off takes place in the package store parking lot.

  • Chefs need to bring: 12 quarts of your best chili in your serving pot; bain-marie (hot water bath pan); serving utensils (ladles/spoons); potholders; thermometer to maintain minimum 135° temperature.

  • We provide: tables and tablecloths; a nameplate and sign holders; gas stove and fuel; hot water for bain-marie; serving bowls, spoons, and napkins for visitors; bottled water for chefs and visitors; oyster crackers for palate cleansing; hand-washing station; ballots for voting.

  • Schedule

    • 11 a.m.: Arrive and set up. Please plan on doing your own load-in and out. We hope, plan, and want to help everyone, however based on timing help may not be available.

    • 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Stand with your chili to serve and describe it.

    • Winners are announced by 4 p.m.
